Got an Idea Worth Spreading? Apply to Speak at TEDxAlbury!

TEDxAlbury is here for the first time and we’re on the hunt for bold thinkers, powerful storytellers, and passionate changemakers from our community.

This is your chance to step onto the red dot and share an idea that inspires us to awaken, challenges us to adapt, and empowers us to evolve— because, in the spirit of TED, ideas change everything.

Whether you’re a researcher, scientist, teacher, artist, entrepreneur, activist, student, or everyday local with an extraordinary perspective — if you’ve got a message that matters, we want to hear from you.

What makes a great TEDx talk?

A fresh idea. A unique lens. A story that sparks curiosity, inspires action, or shifts how we see the world.

Applications are now open!

Apply by Sunday, July 27, 2025, 11pm using the online application form below.

This is more than a talk. It’s a chance to be part of a global movement — right from the heart of Albury.

So … what’s your idea?

FAQs

Do I have to live in Albury to apply?
It is preferable that you are an Albury-Wodonga local, as TEDx events are in local communities, for local communities. However, if you live in a nearby surrounding area and have a demonstrated connection to Albury-Wodonga, we’d love to hear from you!
Do I get paid for speaking or entertaining at TEDxAlbury?
No. TED and TEDx are non-profit, volunteer organisations. Speakers and entertainers give generously of their time, giving their ideas to the world for free.  The primary benefit for entertainers and speakers is the opportunity for exposure and the chance to share their ideas/performances on a large platform.
Will I get access to my original filmed content?
TEDx organisers cannot share the video file with the speakers/performers directly, instead, the link to their talk should be shared. According to TEDx rules, TEDx talk/performance videos should be uploaded to YouTube through the TED Media Uploader and distributed from the TEDx YouTube channel through an embed. Talks/performances cannot be uploaded to any other platforms or YouTube channels.  TEDx team members and TEDx speakers/performers can use up to a 60-second excerpt from a TEDx Talk for non-commercial, social media use only. These clips must tag the official TEDx account on the respective platform. Find the list of handles here.
