Speaker Application Form

We’re looking for eight dynamic speakers to share their ideas in an eight-minute talk at TEDx Albury. If you have a compelling message that can inspire, challenge, or spark curiosity, we want to hear from you!

Being a TEDx speaker is an exciting and rewarding experience, and we work closely with you to shape your idea into a powerful talk. It’s also a real commitment. In the lead-up to the event, you’ll collaborate with curators, meet key deadlines, and take part in the development process. This will include written drafts, self-filmed talk submissions and speaker coaching sessions. We want to be upfront about the time and effort involved so you can fully engage in the experience and get the most out of it.

Are you curious?

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone you know, please complete the below application form.

Please note, this form will not ‘save as you go’. We recommend saving your answers in a separate document and pasting-in when you are ready to hit submit! Applications close Saturday 27 June 2026 at 5pm.

Please enable JavaScript in your browser to complete this form.
Before you complete this application, please confirm your availability for the following dates. (Non-negotiable). *

Are you currently based in Albury-Wodonga or the immediate surrounding region? (Strongly preferred).

In one sentence, what is the through-line or key takeaway that you want the audience to know or feel after hearing this talk?
What is your unique idea that you want to share in a TEDxAlbury talk? In a few sentences, please describe the core of your talk idea. Please demonstrate how your idea is unique / different to other talks on a similar topic. (This is important in adhering to TEDx guidelines, and ideas will be cross-checked against the TEDx back catalogue.)
An outline of your talk, including key points and the intended flow, to demonstrate how you will convey your idea effectively. (This will be collaboratively reviewed and revised in the lead up to the event).

Please submit a short (60–90 second) self-filmed video of yourself outlining your talk. It might be your opening line and the key points. This helps us better understand your idea and how you naturally communicate it. Just explain your idea as you would to a friend, ie conversational tone. A simple phone recording is fine.We are not assessing production quality.
Please check (up to three) categories for your talk *
Have you spoken publicly before? If so, please share one-two recent examples.

Before submitting your application, please review how TEDxAlbury processes the personal information you provide to us.
